EAGLE WEEK

March 27th – March 31st

Rules and Regulations

As stated in the student handbook, alcohol or drugs will not be tolerated.  Any class that is practicing on the school campus MUST have a sponsor with them at all times.  Practices and work away from the school property does not require a school sponsor, but is encouraged.  The student handbook answers most questions concerning behavior.  The faculty will be expected to attend all the events of this week.

All areas of competition will be based on a 4-point scale:

            1st place………………..4 points

            2nd place……………….3 points

            3rd place………………..2 points

            4th place………………...1 point

Monday March 27th through Friday March 31st there will be Hiding of the eagles.  The clues will be given at random times during the day per our daily activities.

Each class will have their own “eagle”.  Seniors-red, Juniors-white, Sophomores-black, and Freshmen-blue.  The sophomores will hide the senior’s eagle, the seniors will hide the sophomore’s eagle.  The freshmen will hide the junior’s eagle, and the juniors will hide the freshmen’s eagle.  All students can search for the eagle’s. All eagle’s MUST be hidden on the high school campus.  Only students that are in grades 9-12 are eligible to look for and find the eagle’s.  Parents and siblings that are not in the high school cannot look for eagle’s.  No one except DHS students will be allowed to look for eagle’s.

Monday

Class meeting.  We will announce for students to go to specific places for class meetings.  Students will decide on lip syncs, songs and props and discuss the strategies of the week.  This year we will be doing decade music. Each class cannot use decades used by other classes and each class must choose their own decade.  So, sponsors please send me the decade you choose asap so I can send those out to everyone.  1st period juniors and seniors will meet.  Juniors will meet in the gym and seniors will meet in the lunchroom.  2nd period the sophomores will meet in the lunchroom and the freshmen will meet in the gym.

Sponsors can meet in class groups as we have done in the past so that your groups can “produce items” and practice for the lip syncs.  When it comes time for judging the freshmen will go first and so on.  Lip Syncs must be 5 to 7 minutes long and must consist of at least 3 songs.

Scavenger Hunt.  Each period an item will be asked for students to produce and bring to a designated person.  The first student who brings that item to that designated person (who will be place “somewhere on campus”) will get their grade the most points (1st place = 4 points) and points will decrease until all places have been filled.

Blood Drive 7:30 until 3:00.  All SGA officers will be at the gym helping.  Any student that gives blood will receive a 5-point card.  Anyone who gives a pint of blood in a student’s name gets a 5-point card for that student to use on any test.  (Not all teachers are participating – check to see which ones).  A parent or grandparent may give blood in the name of all of their high school children or grandchildren and each child or grandchild will receive a 5-point card.
