*Born and raised in Tupelo, MS-Home of Elvis Presley
*Graduated from Tupelo High School-Home of the Tupelo Golden Wave in 1972
*Graduated from Mississippi State University with a Bachelors of Music Education in 1976
*Happily married for 43 years to Larry C. Walker of Booneville, MS
*One son-Chad Walker-graduated from University of South Carolina when he was on athletic scholarship and played under the legendary Lou Holtz. Chad graduated Cum Laude and is presently Sergeant in law enforcement in the city of Columbia, SC.

*I have begun my 43rd year in teaching music this year; one year was in Starkville, MS, two years at Reinhardt College in Waleska, GA,one year as music educator at Oak Grove Elementary in Cherokee County, GA, ten years at Cherokee High School in Canton, GA as choral director and twenty-eight years as choral director for Douglas Middle and High schools. I have been fortunate to work with Dr. Lloyd Pfautsch, Dr. Donald Stafford, and Miss Judith MacMillian just to name a few in the choral music world.

*I am a member of the Music Educators National Conference, American Choral Directors Association, Alabama Vocal Association, Alabama Music Educators Conference, Sigma Alpha Iota, National Educators Association, MCEA, and Alpha Delta Kappa.
