Hello My Name Is...

About Me

Greetings and Salutations!  In 1985 I graduated with honors from Samford University with a Bachelor's in Science, majoring in English/Theatre and Speech Communications Education.  I also studied vocal performance for two years.  I taught English/Theatre/ Chorus at Tarrant High School for ten years to become vested.  I then chose to become a full-time mom of three for eighteen years.  In 2009, I began subbing in Etowah County and decided to recertify my teaching certificate in 2013.  After teaching in Etowah County, I came to Douglas High to do several leaves of absences and sub until I was hired in 2019 to serve as the English 9 teacher.

I live on a small farm in Etowah County with my husband, Jack whom I married in 1991.  Jack IV, Rebekah, and John are our young adult children.  I love Douglas High and feel that teaching is my calling.  I try to teach how English, history, and the arts connect through a variety of assignments and projects.
