Welcome to the Douglas High School Guidance and Counseling page.

I am very honored to be the counselor at Douglas High School. DHS is an awesome school and I look forward to a wonderful school year.

I will be updating the guidance website frequently throughout the year.  In addition to the main page, there is a news page, helpful links (colleges and universities), a calendar of events, and forms.  Please visit the guidance/counseling site for important information and dates.  

The guidance/counseling department is here to assist families in any way you may need us.  Whether you need information or help with Dual Enrollment, AP classes, testing information, 2 or 4 year colleges, technical school/college, military, or work opportunities, we are here to help you.

If you need information on a particular college or scholarship, please come by and talk with me.If you have questions about any of the deadlines or if you would like to visit with a college that is not listed, please let me know. Marshall County Schools provides online ACT Prep to our students.  Please stop by the counseling office website/username/password information.


All students interested in attending college can apply for a pell grant from the federal government.  You can apply anytime after January 1, 2015.  You will need your parents completed 2014 tax returns to apply.

There are three ways to apply:

1.   Apply online at

2.  Download and complete a PDF version of the FAFSA at  Must be mailed in for processing.

3.  Request a paper FAFSA by calling The Federal Student Aid Information Center at 1-800-433-3243.
