EAGLE WEEK March 8th - 12th Rules and Regulations Education is Fundamental!! During this week I encourage you to incorporate fun hands on and engaging activities for your subject area classes. If you are incorporating a lesson that you would like for me or Ms. Landers to observe or to participate in, shoot us an email. Any class that is practicing on the school campus after the school day MUST have a sponsor with them at all times. If you need to reserve the gym or lunchroom after hours, see Ms. Mitchell. The student handbook answers most questions concerning behavior. Should there be a problem with any student, Ms. Mitchell and Mr. Yarbrough will have the final authority. There is to be no working on skits or practices the week of AHSGE. Ms. Mitchell wants the week of AHSGE to be kept very serious. The faculty will be expected to attend all the events of this week. All areas of competition will be based on a 4-point scale: 1st place....................4 points 2nd place...................3 points 3rd place....................2 points 4th place.....................1 point Monday March 8th through Friday March 12th Alumni Tree Fundraiser and Scavenger Hunt This year we are going to participate in raising money for an Alumni Tree for the entrance to the new building. Each mentor group will compete in who can raise the most money. The mentor group that raises the most money and wins the most scavenger hunts wins a biscuit breakfast on Tuesday after Spring Break. Monday's activities are postponed due to administration of the Reading portion of the AHSGE. When all of the testing is finished, we will meet briefly in grade groups to determine the lip syncs. Each day during mentoring period an item will be asked for students to produce and bring to a designated person. The first student who brings that item to that designated person (who will be placed "somewhere on the high school campus") will get their grade the most points (1st place = 4 points) and points will decrease until all places have been filled. On Tuesday we will have 2 scavenger hunts. Monday AFTER TESTING We will announce for students to go to specific places for a brief class meetings. Time will depend upon testing. Students will decide on lip syncs, songs and props and discuss the strategies of the week. This year we will be doing Broadway musicals. Each class cannot use songs used by other classes.
